The first months with a new family member are thrilling, exhausting, and beautiful. They also fly by before you know it, so let’s preserve this time before they grow. Let’s document these early days with your newborn through an in-home session that captures sincere moments: feedings, swaddles, snuggles, and smiles. I don’t believe there’s any need for wild props. Let’s keep Baby where they are happiest -- in your arms!

All you have to do to begin the adventure is send an inquiry my way! Share a bit about the session you’re hoping to plan, and I’ll personally be in touch to keep the conversation going. You'll also be sent a calendar to schedule a chat. During our call, feel free to ask all the questions you have about the photography process. And before you ask, yes, it’s totally fine if your kids can’t sit still! If you feel we are a perfect fit, I’ll send the agreement and retainer invoice your way. Once I receive both back from you, crank the Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, or whatever gets you in a party mood because you’ve just booked your family photographer!
My goal is to make sure you feel 100% confident about every aspect of your session, and that starts on day one! Immediately after you’ve booked your session, I’ll send an in-depth session guide your way. In it, you'll find wardrobe suggestions, how to prep (or not prep) your home, and what happens before, during, and after your session. Two weeks before your session, we will hop on a zoom call to meet "face to face", go over your session details, and answer any final questions. And if a new question or concern should arise at any point in the journey, I’m always just an email away!
During your session, your only responsibility is to have a fun time with your family! Through gentle direction and prompting, I’ll help you settle into natural interactions and moments that feel authentic to you. The most important thing for you to do is have fun! We’ll play some music, let the kids be kids, and laugh a whole bunch as we totally change the way you think of family photo sessions forever. Get ready to have a blast!
Just two weeks or less after your unforgettable session, I’ll notify you that your images are all edited and ready to view. We’ll then schedule an in-person or Zoom session for your reveal and ordering appointment. During this session, you’ll get to see aaaaaall your images, choose which ones you’d like to keep, and order any additional artwork that will decorate your home. I offer fully customizable physical products with a wide range of colors and styles, but don't worry about getting overwhelmed! I'll use my eye for design to help you create each heirloom.
I know you can’t wait to decorate your home with your radiant family photos, and I can’t wait to get them to you! So, just a month after your ordering appointment, your artwork will arrive, and we’ll set a time for your in-person delivery. For years to come, you’ll be able to enjoy the artwork we’ve created together, and then pass them on to future generations of your family.
One of the great things about a lifestyle newborn session is that your baby does not have to be fresh out of the womb for our session. If you prefer to wait closer to 4-8 weeks old, your baby will be more expressive and we'll be able to photograph your baby sleeping AND awake. You'll also have time to recover from the birth and adjust to life with your new baby.
Newborn sessions take place in the comfort of your home. That's right, I come to you! In-home sessions allow for images in your nursery, on your comfy bed and couch, comfortable nursing, and bath-time. Also, everything is available for baby's needs and older children tend to be more comfortable at home in their space. In-home sessions work well for everyone!
During your newborn session, you will have all the time you need to comfort your baby. Sessions are not rushed and we follow the baby's lead. Since you'll be holding your baby most of the session, generally, babies tend to be pretty content most of the time. No matter if baby is hungry, gassy, or needs to be changed, etc., you'll be able to tend to your baby's needs. Baby's needs always comes first!
I believe that babies are most comfortable in parent's arms, so the majority of images will be taken while parents are holding them. There will be a few images of baby alone- in their crib or on the bed, however, newborn sessions are essentially family sessions, and everyone will be photographed.
Parents and older children should wear something you are comfortable in, is true to your style, and makes you feel good! Nothing to loose or too tight. Babies should wear a favorite, well fitting onesie. Before your session, we'll discuss tips and more specific suggestions customized for you and your family.
No worries! The awesome thing is that I am not expecting your children to sit still at all! I place no expectations on your children but to be themselves!
Before your session, we'll discuss the places in your home that we will most likely be photographing in and how to best prepare. However, I understand that you're in the throes of newborn life and certainly won't judge the pile of dishes in the sink or baby paraphernalia that has suddenly taken over the house. If there is anything that needs to be hidden or tucked out of the way during your session, we will take care of it! Please don't worry!
To start the conversation, just send me a "hello" using the inquiry form. You'll immediately receive more session info, and I'll personally follow up with you to keep the conversation going.
